 NEWS RELEASE  06/02/2023 Governor Adeleke to Launch Imole Mobile Surgical Medical outreach In line with his  campaign promise to expand quality health coverage to the people of Osun State and especially rural dwellers, the Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Gov Ademola Adeleke, has approved the commencement of a quarterly free mobile surgical and medical outreach  that will hold in each of the nine federal constituencies of Osun State.  Each edition  of the Imole Surgical and medical outreach will benefit over two thousand persons in each federal constituency in  every quarter where the exercise will be taking place for two days in the constituency. The programme which will be coordinated by the Osun State University Teaching Hospital will be held in State Hospitals in the Iwo, Ede, Ikire, Ila Orangun, Ikirun, Okuku, Ile-Ife, Ilesa, and Ipetu-Ijesa on designated dates. PDP Vice Governorship Candidate chased out of Lagos Market

Nollywood actress and  PDP  deputy governorship candidate in Lagos State Funke Akindele was, on Tuesday, chased out of the Ikosi fruit market by suspected thugs while campaigning. Speaking on the incident, the PDP governorship candidate, Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, in an interview with NAN, confirmed that their  campaign was cut short  following the incident. During a meeting with the chief Imam of Ketu Central Mosque, Jandor confirmed that a security team member was stabbed while others, including journalists, were injured. However, he confirmed that the actress left the campaign train while the team continued to move around the streets in the council. A woman officer was killed

  Gunmen have killed a female police sergeant, Chinyere Obilor, serving in Imo State. The cop was killed on Wednesday when gunmen ambushed her and her colleagues at Ihitte junction on Owerri- Aba Road in Owerri. She and her colleagues were said to be on duty when the gunmen in a minibus known as Busimo struck. They were said to have emerged from a nearby bush and opened fire on the police personnel. Also killed was a yet-to-be-identified person said to be a civilian. The female cop was attached to the Highway Patrol team of the state police command. A source said, “The woman was dedicated to her duties. She was killed in a gun battle when criminals ambushed them at Ihitte junction on Owerri- Aba Road. She was from Mgbidi in Imo. Protest Over Hike In Tuition Fee, Demand Immediate Reversal

They said they could not afford the new fees regime because majority of them are on low income range of about N50,000 monthly salary. The students, who mobilized themselves through social media platform staged the protest at McCarthy Study Centre of the university in Obalende, Lagos. They assembled at the centre around 9.30am and carried placards with different inscriptions, chanting no to fees hike by the university management.
